The luminous principle of xenon metal halide Lamp is different from the traditional halogen lamp. It is a high-pressure discharge lamp with the special ballast, and it uses the 12V vehicle battery to generate more than 23000V high voltage to ignite the lamp. The starting luminous flux at 1 second is 25% of target value and 80% of it within 4 seconds. After the lamp has been operated stable, the ballast provides about 85V to lamp to keep the constant power running. Another characteristic is that this xenon metal halide lamp of 35W emits 3 times of light as the halogen lamp of 60W does and the 3000 hrs lifetime equals to 8 times of halogen lamp.
